KSEC Music Therapy Services was established to provide a variety of music therapy services in individual and group settings in the Butler County, PA area.
Kathryn Eberle Cotter, MT-BC, earned her bachelor degree in music therapy from Slippery Rock University completing clinical hours with older adults with dementia, hospitalized children, adults in a psych hospital, incarcerated teens, and children with developmental delays and autism. She completed an internship with Hospice, Inc. in Poughkeepsie, New York providing services at bedside, in hospitals, in nursing homes, at memorial services, and in bereavement support groups.
Since passing her board exam in 2012, Kate has provided music therapy groups for children in behavioral support classrooms and as a bilingual mental health counselor for juvenile sex offenders. In her work with juveniles she developed and implemented a group music therapy curriculum that she presented at the MAR AMTA Conference in Harrisburg, PA in 2016. Kate is practicing independently through KSEC Music Therapy Services and is a member of the American Music Therapy Association. Currently in her community she leads a weekly addiction recovery group and is the director of ACTS Choir and Orchestra.
